Allison's Quilt

Welcome to my brand new Quiltastic blog!

This blog will be all about my cheater quilting techniques...so no quilt police are welcome!  Well you are welcome, but know I am a huge cheater quilter!  Please feel free to comment as you see fit.

For now I am going to post some pictures of my quilt work.  All that I have done in the last 10 years have been for gifts, mostly for babies.  So be prepared for that, though my take on a baby quilt means something big enough they can sleep under it until midelementary school!  Enjoy my thoughts on quilting and what works for me and my photos.

This quilt was done for my Goddaughter Allison.  I used much water soluble thread and glue on this one.  Which by the way are some of my favorite things!  I used variegated embroidery floss for the picture parts.  I do just a very simple chain stitch for all the embroidery you will see.  Which I do on nearly all of my quilts.

I used reproduction fabrics for all of this one, and the back...which of course I did not take a picture of, was pink chenille.  Allie loves it, which is all that matters.

I did not use any batting, at the time I thought it was a good idea.  By the time I decided it was not a great idea I did not want to take out the quilting I had already done...so it stayed that way.

I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts and seeing my pictures.  Comments are enjoyed, and someday I would love to be one of those blogs with followers....though one step at a time.
